ASAC held their annual Excellence In Safety Awards Program at Lakewood Country Club on Thursday, March 24, 2011. The annual event recognizes those companies who have made safety a part of their corporate culture. “All applicants exemplify the highest standards of safety performance, each year it becomes increasingly difficult as applications are reviewed and judged, this year was no exception,” comments Scott Deering, ASAC President.
The Safety Award Winner of the 2011 ASAC Excellence in Safety Awards for over 500,000 man hours was presented to The Gallegos Corporation.
The ASAC stated “The Gallegos Corporation is a company where safety extends beyond the company with consideration given to not only employees, but to the community as well. Because of their demonstrated safety performance, this company sets a good example and provides a positive image for construction.”
Debra Miller, ASAC Executive Director comments that, “Safety programs and safety performance are successful because we learn from one another. We talk about what other companies are doing to not only manage safety concerns as they arise, but how to be proactive in meeting the safety issues of the construction industry. This year the ASAC program attendees were fortunate to hear from Mike Haller, Safety Officer, The Gallegos Corporation. He spoke about the safety program of The Gallegos Corporation and the value it brings to this company and community. We all were reminded that diligence and attention to detail is what makes a solid and safe jobsite.”
