The Gallegos Corporation strives to treat its employees like an extended family, celebrating successes with them and helping them during down times. Earlier this month the company was able to make high school graduation day a bit sweeter with scholarships to children of employees.
“We are fortunate to be able to assist our families,” said Gerald Gallegos, founder and CEO of The Gallegos Corporation. “Our hope is that by giving these kids some financial help, they will continue their education. It is our way of thanking parents for their dedication while their kids reach for their dreams, whether it be college, a vocational program or getting them started in their adult life.”
Each year Gallegos tries to give support in the daunting financial obligations that await high school graduates. This year four students received scholarships from Gallegos. Krista Aoki, whose mother works in the Accounts Payable department, will be attending Humboldt University in California and pursuing a degree in journalism. Aaron Hughey, son of Kevin Hughey in the Denver Plaster division, is a US Air Force Academy Cadet Candidate for 2010. Ariel Rodriguez, Jr., son of Ariel senior from the Marble/Granite division, plans to attend Colorado Mountain College and work in web design. Finally, Justin Evancho, whose father works in the Mountain Plaster division, will also be attending CMC part time.
“I wish the graduates the best of luck. It is such an exciting time in their lives,” Gerald added.
The Gallegos Corporation was founded in 1970 by Gerald G. Gallegos as a specialty stone masonry company. Since that time, TGC has expanded trades and now also specializes in distinctive residential and commercial projects including quality masonry, plaster/stucco, concrete, art rock, marble/granite work and stone sales.
The Gallegos Corporation is headquartered in Vail, Colorado and has offices in Denver and Aspen, Colorado and Sun Valley, Idaho.
