The Gallegos Legacy
It all started in 1970 with one man, a stone fireplace, and a vision for a company built on excellence and craftsmanship. That man was Gerald Gallegos, a Minturn local who grew up in a pioneer family from the San Luis Valley. A wrestler, a pitcher, and a hard worker from the start, Gerald founded Gallegos Masonry with only a cement mixing truck and the help of his brothers. From those early days in Vail, the company expanded across Colorado’s mountain towns and helped shape landmark destinations, including Beaver Creek, where Gallegos stonework can be seen throughout the village.
Gerald was known not only for his craftsmanship but also for his deep commitment to community. He played a meaningful role in establishing organizations that continue to serve Colorado today and believed in creating opportunity and stability for local families. His values of honesty, respect, and hard work remain the foundation of the company. Although Gerald passed away in 2010, the foundation he built is still evident in every project and in the craftsmen who continue the work he began. His wife, Suzanne, remains a guiding presence, helping ensure what he started continues with heart and intention.
