This private Aspen residence reflects an exceptional level of stone craftsmanship, material selection, and architectural integration, resulting in a home that settles naturally into its alpine setting. Colorado buff sandstone cobble was specified for 14,700 square feet of dimensional paving, forming a durable and visually cohesive hardscape that anchors the exterior experience. Careful attention was given to stone sizing, joint alignment, and tonal consistency to ensure both performance and refined appearance across patios and walkways.

The structure is clad in 17,143 square feet of custom brick veneer, installed with precision to reinforce architectural rhythm and introduce warmth against the mountain backdrop. A defining feature of the residence is the 15,600 square feet of Napa Rhyolite stone veneer, executed in an elegant drystack pattern to emphasize texture, shadow lines, and the rugged character of the region’s geology. Completing the architectural detailing, 2,200 square feet of Colorado buff sandstone caps were integrated with clean edges and consistent coloration to unify the material palette.

Executed under the expert supervision of Hank Spaulding, the masonry scope was coordinated with meticulous sequencing and quality control at every phase. The result is a residence of enduring craftsmanship and material harmony—one that upholds the highest standards of construction while honoring the natural beauty of the Aspen landscape.
